Chris McPhail - Police Chief

Chief Chris McPhail is a retired Springfield Missouri Police Officer. He was sworn in as Chief on April 17, 2018. Chris grew up in the Springfield area and was a reserve deputy at the Greene County Sheriff’s Office prior to his career with the Springfield Police Department. Chris Graduated from Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College, Moore Oklahoma in 1987 with an Associate of Arts Degree in Elementary Education. He graduated from the Springfield Police Academy in 1995. Chris served in the United States Army Reserve for 10 years then served 14 years in the United States Navy Reserve for 14 years. He retired from the USNR in 2016 as a Lieutenant. Chris is married with three children and he enjoys spending time outdoors with his family.

Brent Armstrong - Police Officer (Lt.)

Brent Armstrong grew up in Lebanon and has lived in Nixa for the last sixteen years. He graduated from the Drury Law Enforcement Academy in 2005. Prior experience includes the Chief of Police for the Village of Indian Point for five years and reserve officer for the cities of Miller and Ozark. Brent also worked for St Johns ambulance in Springfield as an EMT for fifteen years. His hobbies include camping and riding motorcycles.

Jarrod FieldPolice Officer (Sgt.)

Officer Jarrod Field started his Law Enforcement career as a Corrections Officer in the State of Texas in 1998. To be closer to family, Officer Field attended the Law Enforcement Training Institute Police Academy in Columbia, MO in 2000 and started his career as a Police Officer. Officer Field moved to the Springfield area in 2005 and took a step away from full time Law Enforcement to continue his education and graduated from Missouri State University in 2008 with two Bachelor's Degrees, one in Criminology and one in Sociology.  Officer Field joined the Battlefield Police Department in October of 2020 and is a Certified Taser Instructor for the department. Officer Field is married with three children and enjoys coaching his son's youth football team, hunting, SCUBA diving and other activities.

Steve Carpenter - Police Officer

Steve Carpenter graduated the Drury University Police Academy in 1998. In 1999 he started his law enforcement career in Battlefield as a reserve officer for six months. He then became a reserve deputy with the Greene County Sheriff’s department for almost three years. While working as a reserve officer Carpenter was the Loss Prevention Supervisor for Bass Pro Shops for five years. He then became a full time Police Officer for the City of Battlefield in October, 2004. Carpenter is married with three daughters.

Robin Cooper - Police Officer 

Officer Cooper graduated from the Drury Law Enforcement Academy in December 2020 and immediately began her career here in Battlefield. She was born in Bellflower California and had the privilege of living in multiple states. She enjoys hunting, fishing and stock car racing. Officer Cooper is married and has one son, who she adores dearly and supports his sports activities.

Matthew Disher - Police Officer

Shannon Marler - Police Officer

Shannon Marler grew up in Springfield. He graduated from the Drury Law Enforcement Academy in 2006. Prior experience includes working as a reserve deputy for the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and as a police officer for the past two years for the city of Willard. Shannon’s hobbies include airbrushing and graphic arts.
