Cherokee Trail of Tears Park

At the Cherokee Trail of Tears Park, which is located next to City Hall, there are two playground areas with play equipment appropriate for toddlers and older children. Our newest playground area is all-inclusive for those with limited mobility. A paved walking trail provides a half mile loop around the entire park that is illuminated at night. There is one tennis court, four pickleball courts, a basketball court, a fitness court, a small pond with gazebo, and a pavilion with picnic tables. Both our pond and pavilion areas are available for rent. Hours and court lighting for the park vary with the season.

Fitness Court

Built in 2023, the Fitness Court® at the Cherokee Trail of Tears Park is the world’s best outdoor gym and allows users to leverage their own body weight to get a complete workout using seven stations. Created with people aged 14 and over and with all abilities in mind, the workouts are adaptable for all fitness levels, allowing participants to move at their own pace. Users also may download the free Fitness Court App which acts as a coach-in-your-pocket and enhances the outdoor gym into a digitally supported wellness experience.
