INVITATION FOR BIDS Sealed bids for the Lift Station Upgrades (hereinafter “Project”) will be received by the City of Battlefield, 5434 Tower Drive, Battlefield, MO 65619, until 9:00 AM, on Tuesday, April 9, 2024. The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 9:00 AM, on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at City Hall. The Scope of Work for Battlefield Lift Station Upgrades includes rehabilitation of lift stations B, C, D, J and K including new submersible pumps with a pumpmate structure, (3) new generators, and other incidental items and work described in the Project Manual, or reasonably inferable therefrom. Bid packages will be available after 12:00 pm on March 6, 2024, and may be obtained from the office of Cochran located at 2804 North Biagio Street, Ozark, MO 65721, upon payment of a non-refundable fee of $75.00 per hard copy set or $25.00 for a digital copy. A bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid amount must accompany each bid, in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. A prebid meeting will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 2:00 PM at City Hall, 5434 Tower Drive, Battlefield, MO 65619. The City of Battlefield anticipates issuing notice to proceed in May 2024. The wage rates applicable to this project have been predetermined as required by law and are set forth in this specification. When Federal wage rates are applicable and included, this contract is subject to the “Work Hours Act of 1962,” (P.L. 87-581: 76 Stat. 357) and implementing regulations. Effective January 1, 2009, and pursuant to RSMo 285.530 (1), No business entity or employer shall knowingly employ, hire for employment, or continue to employ an unauthorized alien to perform work within the state of Missouri. The successful bidder must submit a sworn affidavit and documentation affirming the business entity's enrollment and participation in the federal work authorization program and that all of its employees working for the contracted services are not illegal immigrants. Bidders on this work will be required to comply with the President’s Executive Order Number 11246. Requirements for bidders and contractors under this order are explained in the specifications. Upon signing the contract, the successful contractor and any subcontractor performing the work shall provide a ten-hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) construction safety program for their on-site employees. The City of Battlefield hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award.
