SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Greene County will host its annual Flag Day Celebration on Friday, June 13 at 10:00 a.m. in the Rotunda of the county’s Historic Courthouse. The celebration will honor the adoption of the Stars and Stripes as the official flag of the United States dating back to June 14, 1777, by the second Continental Congress. It will include a presentation by the Ozark Mountain Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, a musical performance by the Courthouse Chorale and a proclamation presented by the County Commission. The public and media are invited to attend. Come help honor the nation’s symbol and the principles it represents.
