The City of Battlefield announces that Tommy Van Horn has resigned from his position as City Administrator, effective November 11, 2025. The City will announce an interim replacement as soon as one is available, then they can proceed to find a long-term replacement in the not-so-distant future.

During his tenure, Mr. Van Horn helped advance several key projects that benefit the community, including the relocation of the Battlefield Police Department, revitalization of the City Park with new play equipment and the addition of pickleball courts, outdoor fitness facility, remodeling of former Police area in City Hall for more effective office use, and the implementation of planning tools for sewer, streets, and stormwater management. Since his arrival in 2021, he was able to gain the approval of 2021 Comprehensive Plan then the updating of the plan in 2023 with the Economic & Housing Analysis Study. Also, in 2023, a Sanitary Sewer Study was completed. The newest endeavor was to create the first Capital Improvement Plan for Battlefield in 2025, so the City has a guideline for public infrastructure and community facility needs to plan 5 years out and revisit each budget year to make sure this aligns with the City's long-term vision for growth.

We thank Mr. Van Horn for his service to the City and wish him the best in his future endeavors. We also appreciate the community's support as the City transitions to new leadership.
