BATTLEFIELD - Current Police Chief Chris McPhail was sworn in on October 21st, 2025, by City Clerk Beth Anne West at the Regular Session Meeting of the Board of Aldermen after a unanimous vote to begin the transition as current City Administrator Tommy Vanhorn plans to depart the City of Battlefield on November 10th , 2025.
This will allow the City to begin the process of putting together materials to formalize an advertisement to focus on filling the vacancy possibly by the first of the year. The City has staff in place at the Police Department so current Lieutenant Brent Armstrong can move up to Interim Police Chief that also occurred at the same meeting, so the City may continue operation and day- to-day functions.
