We wish to inform you that beginning the week of December 8th, 2025, crews will begin environmental field survey work for the Wilson’s Creek Trail extension in Greene County along Rte. FF and Rte. M near Battlefield Missouri.
The survey work will consist of the gathering of field environmental data and archaeological investigations necessary for the design of the project. We will attempt to contact all the affected property owners before entering their property to perform this survey work. Environmental surveys are investigations for historic structures, identifying archaeological sites, threatened & endangered species habitat, wetlands, and hazardous environmental contamination. The screening process requires walking the land, taking photographs, and performing “shovel tests” in selected areas. Crews will be clearly identifiable in reflective vests and will be carrying business cards and this letter for identification. This letter will serve as a notification to you of our planned activity.
Our crews will attempt to answer any questions you may have; however, the members of the survey crews may not be familiar with all aspects of the design of this project.
