Sofos Power has tabled their rezoning application (PB 2403) for a proposed Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in northern Greene County. The public hearing before the Greene County Commission, originally scheduled for March 2, has been postponed.

Background: On February 17, the Greene County Planning Board held a public hearing on Sofos Power's request to rezone approximately 40 acres at 4873 N. Rocky Lane from Agricultural to Plot Assignment District to develop a lithium-ion battery energy storage facility. After hearing extensive public testimony, the Planning Board voted unanimously to recommend denial of the application. The final decision rests with the Greene County Commission.
