Springfield, MO - Greene County Clerk Shane Schoeller announced today that Greene County registered voters will soon receive new voter identification cards in the mail. “Please watch your mailbox for a new voter identification card over the next two weeks. This biennial mailing is required by Missouri law and helps ensure voter registration records remain accurate and up-to-date,” Schoeller said.
The identification cards include important information for voters, such as their assigned polling location, ward or township, legislative and school districts.
Some voters will notice a change to their assigned polling location, which are listed below:
• 2-AB, Rountree Elementary School, 1333 Grand Street, Springfield
• 35-A, Sherwood Elementary School, 2524 South Golden Avenue, Springfield
• Washington, One Community Church - Rogersville, 355 North Missouri Boulevard, Rogersville
Schoeller encourages voters to check their cards upon receipt to ensure all information is correct, noting, “It is important to be prepared for Election Day.” Voters should be aware that under Missouri law, presentation of a valid form of photo identification issued either by the state of Missouri or the United States government is required when checking in to vote.
If a voter identification card arrives for someone who does not reside at that address, please place the card back in the mail for return delivery to the Office of the County Clerk. Any additional questions may be directed to the Office of the County Clerk by phone at 417-868-4055 or by email at voterregistration@greenecountymo.gov.
