Resolution No. 26-R-03
WHEREAS, the City of Battlefield, Missouri, recognizes that public safety is a core responsibility of local government and essential to the well-being of its residents; and
WHEREAS, the Battlefield Police Department provides professional law enforcement services to the community and continues to demonstrate a strong commitment to training, readiness, and community-oriented policing; and
WHEREAS, the Missouri Blue Shield Program, administered by the Missouri Department of Public Safety, recognizes cities, towns, and counties that demonstrate excellence in public safety practices, compliance with state reporting requirements, and support for law enforcement personnel; and
WHEREAS, designation as a Blue Shield Community, strengthens Battlefield's ability to maintain a safe environment, enhances officer preparedness, and reflects the City's ongoing investment in law enforcement; and
WHEREAS, the Battlefield Police Department meets the standards required for Blue Shield designation, including community engagement, crime-reduction strategies, recruitment and retention efforts, and compliance with UCR/NIBRS and Vehicle Stops reporting; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of Battlefield supports the Police Department's efforts to obtain this designation and recognizes the benefits it provides to both the department and the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Battlefield, Missouri, that the Council hereby formally supports the Battlefield Police Department's application for designation as a Missouri Blue Shield Community.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Battlefield remains committed to providing the resources, training, and support necessary for the Police Department to continue delivering high-quality public safety services.
