GREENE COUNTY, MO – The Greene County Commission will officially proclaim August as Emergency Management Awareness Month during a ceremony on Wednesday, August 5, at 11 a.m. at the Public Safety Center, 330 W. Scott St. in Springfield.
The Springfield-Greene County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) invites emergency management professionals, partner agencies, elected officials, healthcare organizations, utilities, schools, volunteer organizations, nonprofit agencies, private-sector partners, and members of the media to attend as the county recognizes the collaborative efforts that help keep Greene County prepared for emergencies and disasters.
Following the proclamation, attendees will gather for a commemorative group photo celebrating the partnerships that make emergency management possible.
Emergency Management Awareness Month highlights the work that often happens behind the scenes before, during, and after emergencies. From developing emergency plans and coordinating disaster response to supporting recovery efforts and strengthening community resilience, emergency management relies on partnerships across every sector of the community.
