SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Greene County Commission and the Ozark Mountain Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution will honor the 284th birthday of American Revolutionary War General Nathanael Greene, the county’s namesake, on Friday, Aug. 14 in the Historic Courthouse.

WHAT: 284th birthday celebration of American Revolutionary War General Nathanael Greene, who the county is named after and one of George Washington’s most trusted leaders in the Continental Army. The event will serve as a continuation of the county’s America 250 celebrations which honors the country’s semiquincentennial.
