West Walker Street will be shut down, between Westwood Drive and Ivey Lane, as construction crews from the Old Wire Road subdivision replace the lateral line of the sewer system that runs under that street. This project is scheduled to take place April 13th - 15th. A small detour will be in place during that period of time.

The Battlefield Advisory Parks Board is accepting volunteers to participate in the establishment of a new community garden at Battlefield's Cherokee Trail of Tears Park (Battlefield City Park). The volunteer positions are open to all Battlefield citizens. No green thumbs required, only a passion for serving the community and working with neighbors.
The first volunteer meeting will be held immediately after the next regular Parks Board meeting at City Hall at 6:30pm on April 9th, 2026. We will register volunteers (contact information and availability), evaluate potential garden sites in the park, and decide what and how much to plant.
